What a varied & interesting place , as we only had a few days here we signed up for a walking tour of the sites . We had a dedicated guide for the 2 of us who was very good , it turned out her father was an officer in the kgb , so we were in good hands . Revolution & Red squares were all having their Xmas markets dismantled, this did not detract from there beauty. The kremlin & its towers were stunning, but st Basils cathedral took the price . It seems Moscow was invaded by nearly everyone years ago , the Mongolians , polish , napoleon , hitler . With the help of a very friendly concearge & a few pennies we managed to get nearly front row tickets for the bloshoi theatre ballet , this is a must if you ever come to Moscow , the theatre & the ballet we’re out of this world . Anyway we’re on the way home now Karen has taken a taxis to the airport I’m waiting for mine to arrive to take me to the station. I’m on the Moscow – Paris express via Belarus, Poland , Germany if everything goes ok I will be in my local pub by 1730 on Friday . So after 4 months away I’m on the last leg it has gone by so quick , at the last count I’d visited 22 countries.
